Cleaning for Hope was founded by Lily Okech, a refugee from Uganda, who saw a need to employ our local refugees while also serving our community. Lily came to America, with members of her family, at the age of 15. She started high school in the United States speaking no English – learning her ABCs as a ninth grader. Within months, Lily was on her way to speaking and writing in English and identifying her passion and a deep-rooted need to help others. Lily began her journey into the field of cleaning services as a way to provide for her family as a divorced immigrant woman raising four sons. Through her hard work and determination, Lily was recommended over and over again by her clients to new customers. Lily not only performs duties as founder and employee, but she is also the acting bookkeeper of Cleaning for Hope, with duties such as invoicing, receiving, and reconciliation of accounts. As her clientele grows, Lily now employs other women in situations similar to her own. She personally trains each employee to perform their jobs to her standards and methods, as well as helps them with other life skills when needed. While incredibly busy with the business of Cleaning for Hope and raising her children, Lily also finds time to mentor others and has become an accomplished motivational speaker.ret pertinácia usu.
